Donate Now IRNMN Christian Men’s Ministry IRNMN (Iron Men) began eight years ago with two guys meeting for breakfast at Marie Callender’s once a week. We shared a similar passion…or disdain…weak Christian men, including ourselves. Over an incredibly unhealthy breakfast scramble of some sort, we decided to do something about it. We spent the next couple of months designing the ins and outs of a small men’s group focused on spiritual leadership. Here are the four basic tenets we came up with: Spiritual leadership is our focus. Daily time in Scripture/prayer is required, how else can we understand our God-given role as the spiritual leader of our home? We can’t do this alone. God designed us to do this together (and you’d agree that the two of us needed all the help we could get). We committed to meet with each other every other week. Get outside of our normal environment, and be men! Meet outside around a fire. We invited two other men to join us and the four of us began meeting. Three years later, we had all changed as men, and our families had changed with us. We introduced the concept to our church, and before we knew it, we had 10 new groups formed, representing 40 families in our church. We had a ministry on our hands, and a church full of men who knew how to start a fire! We focused most of our attention on our home church, Green Valley Church in San Diego. Now it’s spreading and we’ve committed ourselves to this ministry and to what God has in store for us and the Christian men this ministry was created to help. The IRNMN Christian Men’s Ministry is designed to facilitate the development of strong men who are committed to accepting and pursuing their role as the spiritual leaders of their families first, then to their churches and communities. We accomplish this by promoting and facilitating a simple, but effective, small-group structure that resonates with Kingdom-minded men. In the following weeks, we will be adding content to our site, further explaining how the small groups operate, and working toward expanding this ministry to every man and every church in need of a strong men’s ministry.
